Whats would be the best way to strap a surf board to a hatchback?

I have a corsa which is M regs, i can attach one to the front via front doors, but the back is a prob, the windows dont open, but i tried using the boot, in not to sure if it will work,

any suggestions?

oh and surfboard will be a shortboard

buy a roof rack then tie the surfboard down with string or bungies but buy a board sock so that the surfboard doesn’t get damaged.
