Honestly, If this is truly an assignment handed out by your teacher, someone needs to teach them a thing or two. These questions are so vague and ambiguous, it’s impossible to know precisely what is being asked. The only one remotely specific question is “The strong winds in a hurricane are caused by:”
Amusingly, the correct answer is not even present to that question. The strong winds in a hurricane are caused by the great pressure differences between the center of the Hurricane and the ambient environment. Air rushes from areas of higher concentration (higher pressure) to areas of lower concentration (low pressure- e.g. the center of a hurricane). The reason hurricanes rotate is because of the Coriolis effect. In the Northern Hemisphere, the Coriolis effect acts at a 90 degree angle to the right of the direction of an object’s movement. Air, in this case, is the object, and if it is moving towards the center of a hurricane (for reasons described above), it will be “tugged” at a 90 degree angle to the right of its path. The Coriolis effect isn’t strong enough to overcome the great pressure differences, however. Therefore, the end result is a slight “tug” to the right, which is why hurricanes rotate counter-clockwise, as winds will be tugged just a bit right before rushing towards the center. (you’d have to picture the arc this would create to understand the rotation caused by it).
Also, technically, the answer to number 2 is also “NONE” as a hurricane affects land (damage, upon landfall), the atmosphere (it “lives” there), the hydrosphere (significant precipitation and it’s fed by constant condensation and latent heat), and the cryosphere(not a commonly used term, by the way, but very high cloud tops in a hurricane are composed of ice, just as in many clouds upon reaching a certain height).
Anyway, the bottom line is, these are complicated processes, and whomever created this assignment needs to learn a bit about meteorology before attempting to teach it.
