Is it too cold to get in the water at the beach this weekend? Carolina Beach?

my parents and i are going to Carolina Beach this weekend and i was wondering if its too cold to get into the ocean just yet? i like body boarding and skim boarding so I really want to get into the water…i don’t have a wet suit or anything just a bathing suit and stuff
I mean i think i can because the pools will be open so if the pools are open the ocean is water too so am i okay or is it going to be too cold?
also if anyone goes to Carolina Beach or has ever been tehre whats it like? we usualy go to myrtle or virginia so this is our first time at Carolina and we are staying at the Buccaneer Hotel if anyone knows wat its like thatd be great!

According to the NWS, water temps are in the mid-60′s. Not frigid but not tropical. If it’s a warm day, you’ll be able to play around in the water but probably won’t want to spend all day in it.
